Marine plastic pollution was declared a planetary crisis by the United Nations in 2017, and up to 80 per cent of plastics that are in the ocean come from land. Especially with an imminent Federal ban on single-use plastics as soon as next year (2021), there is a growing momentum to reduce plastic-use and adopt environmentally-friendly practices. But what are “environmentally friendly practices”? How will they impact business? What is the role of local businesses in this global issue?
